Nicole Marie (AKA Nicola Rapley) grew up loving to sing, dance and perform at a very young age and then at the age of 16 took up the opportunity to join her first soul group “Moving the River”. Here Nicole Marie gained her first experience of live performance singing soul classics of Aretha Franklin and other RnB legends. After gigging with various bands in the Manchester area Nicole Marie teamed up with Big Brovaz producer Skillz and Ex charlotte Church manager Jonathan Shalit to kick off her solo career. It was soon after this that Nicole Marie received a phone call from man behind Erra Records; Benji Whytepatch.
The first project Nicole and Benji worked on together was a charity single in conjunction with London Transport and Saba.org campaigning against reckless and speed driving. An issue Nicole feels strongly about having grown up in inner city Manchester.
It was during these recording sessions that Benji discovered Nicole Marie’s unique talent. “Its her humbleness, her dedication and passion to be a successful artist that impressed me. So inspiring to see a young talent like Nicole come alive and deliver such a sensual performance in front of live audience.” Now at 21 Nicole Marie is enjoying working with Benji much and feels for the first ti me she is creating music she truly believes in.
