The new commercial for Dr. Pepper via agency Deutsch and edited by Cut +Run's David Checel features Hip-Hop mogul Dr. Dre and the world debut of a track from his highly-anticipated "Detox" album. Directed by Paul Hunter, the commercial extols the benefits of savoring the 23 flavors of Dr. Pepper slowly to appreciate its true value. The commercial begins with Dr. Dre walking into a very chic but dull party. He makes his way over to the DJ booth, where a quirky guy on the turntables is playing a techno beat that isn't pleasing the crowd or the Doc. To get the party started, he places a can of Dr. Pepper on the vinyl which slows the track to reveal one of his own. The crowd responds with undulating appreciation. "Slow is better," he advises. "Trust me, I'm a doctor."
