The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by David Pearce and adapted for screen by Peter Morgan and who also penned The Queen and Frost/Nixon and directed by the award winning Tom Hooper (Longford and John Adams). The Damned United plays out the humorously dark story of Brian Cloughs doomed 44 day tenure as the manager of the reigning champions of English football in the 70s, Leeds United.
